About Southern Ontario Counselling Centre
Southern Ontario Counselling Centre has been part of the Kitchener-Waterloo community since 1986. We're not a single clinic with one clinical philosophy — we're a group of licensed therapists, each running their own independent practice, working together under one roof and one set of shared standards.
Independent Therapists, One Centre
Each therapist at Southern Ontario Counselling sets their own fees, approach, and availability — which is why rates and specialties vary from one therapist to the next rather than following a single fixed price list. What connects everyone here is shared space, shared standards, and a shared commitment to licensed, accountable care. This structure means you're not assigned to whoever's available next — you're matched with a therapist whose actual focus fits what you're dealing with.
In St. Agatha Since 1986
Our office is in St. Agatha, in the Waterloo Region, serving clients from Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, and beyond — in person and, for clients anywhere in Ontario, online.
Care That Sees You
Many therapists here work from a trauma-informed, affirming approach. You shouldn't have to explain or justify who you are before the work can start — the Centre aims to see you fully, and to keep learning where it falls short. All are welcome here, and we use your preferred name and pronouns as a matter of course.
Land Acknowledgement
"We honour that our counselling practice in St. Agatha (Kitchener-Waterloo) stands on the Haldimand Tract, within the traditional territory of the Attawandaron/Chonnonton (Neutral), Anishinaabe, and Haudenosaunee peoples. This land, promised to the Six Nations of the Grand River in 1784 and governed by the Dish With One Spoon wampum, reminds us that healing involves relationship—with self, community, and land. We are committed to respectful care, cultural humility, and our shared responsibility to care for the land and its peoples."
How to Find the Right Fit
Because every therapist here runs their own practice, "finding the right fit" is a real, meaningful step — not a formality. Browse therapists by concern, or answer a few short questions and we'll suggest a match. Find a Therapist →
Common Questions
Why do fees vary between therapists here?
Each therapist runs their own independent practice within the centre, so they set their own rates, much like independent professionals sharing a building. See the full fee table →
Is this the same as a large clinic where I'll be assigned to whoever's next available?
No — you choose or are matched with a specific therapist based on fit, not queue position.
